PROCESS

Our work begins at the quarry, by choosing the most suitable material

We extract blocks of appropriate quality

We cut them to the size needed for the work we are going to do

Based on our own designs, we begin the task of shaping these blocks, by carving or sculpting them.
For such a purpose, we use our own modern technology, which is unique throughout the world, and handcraft work used in the finest sculpture.

Review of Roberto Mario Rocchetti’s work by Julio Vicario

When I saw Roberto Mario Rocchetti’s work, I was surprised by the fascinating harmony of the shapes. I felt something similar to what you feel when you follow a mountain stream, unspoiled by man, up to its source. In the stream, water has left its marks, very strong, very deep, but in such a delicate and well-balanced way that, although the materials and shapes are so different, they combine and form a whole. As regards this, he said that “if there is harmony, nothing is rejected, everything integrates and fulfills the mission of telling about its Creator; it shows a ray of light, helping us to feel rhythms and harmonies that are hidden from our eyes.”

The passion and good taste he puts in his work, as well as the preference and such an evident love for the stone as material, add up to the result of his work. “You can’t transmit what you don’t feel; you can’t give what you don’t have”, he states.

His original, strong and plastic universe reflects an authentic, simple and, at the same time, deep person, and when looking at or coexisting with his works, you can feel the harmony of his life and calm strength.

I’m sure that, just as Rocchetti leaves deeps marks on the stones when he produces his works, his work as a sculptor will leave marks of creativity and freshness that will endure on art lovers.

Lasting beauty

Sometimes you may have happened to direct the demolition of buildings that, by their importance, beauty or quality, you wouldn’t have wanted to see erased. You look among the debris trying to rescue objects that keep the memory of that beautiful work. From among all of them, you choose that thing that has kept the original beauty. That thing that stands out, that has survived the passing of time, and that can be relocated and can keep transmitting beauty. Pietraeterna didn’t exist 100 years ago, but it will certainly be among those objects that some professionals will rescue from the demolitions of beautiful buildings in a hundred years’ time or more.
